Valentine’s Day Story Collection 2019

Happy Valentine’s Season 2019

Hello readers and friends,

Thank you for sticking around here with me. Here’s a small bundle of two romantic stories that are set to satisfy the romantic in you.

  1. First up is THE CRICKET’S LOVE SONG: A story about a cricket who gets lost only to find true love away from his home. Inspired by the chirping of crickets at a dark lonely bus stop, this short story will warm your heart even on the coldest of nights.

  2. Up next is a vignette short story I wrote for a Romance Wattpad contest, THE NIGHT THAT BEGAN FOREVER: The day when James swept Sue off her feet and out on the perfect date to somewhere absolutely romantic.

That’s it, guys. HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY, EVERYONE! Wishing you all the love in the world.

Love,

A Red Celebration

Happy Lunar New Year 2019 🙂

aredcelebrationstanza1

The time has come,
Joy and prosperity,
Red veils over our doors
Red for happiness,
Red for luck,
Red lanterns out on the porch.

Blessings from married relatives
To whom we say, “Thank you.”
Red packets for you and I,
And here’s an orange or two for you.

A tour of visits to our families
And friends whom we love so dear,
Whom we only meet sometimes
Once or twice a year.

So have a prawn,
Have a fish,
Dumplings and
Vegetables too

Raise your cup,
Here’s a toast
“Happy new year”
From me to you

Going Home

A poem for Chinese New Year 2019

Going Home (Part 1)
Chinese New Year 2019: Going Home (Part 1), a poem by Haunting Angel

While birds fly back to their nests,
Men flock back to their hometowns,
Taking their wives and children along
From sun up ’til sun down

Crossing over seas and bridges
To get to grandma’s place
Just in time for a steamboat dinner
And a smile on grandpa’s face

Abalone, prosperity,
Dumplings like gold and silver;
Prawns for laughter
Fishes for more,
Coversations that never bore.

Happy New Year 2019!

A glorious year ahead of us

It’s official. 2018 is gone! Fireworks are blaring outside my window and shooting up over skyscrapers. What a wonderful year of ups and downs and I’ve got all of you to thank for joining me on this journey.

It’s the first day of 2019 and the year has already greeted me with brand new waves of inspiration and challenges.

In this past year of 2018, I fell into the wonderful world of poetry and have been loving the creative challenge of putting the images and emotions in my head into artful expressive stanzas. If you’re interested in my poetry, please check it out right here.

However this year, I’m hoping to return to my storytelling roots. So look out 2019, there will be stories coming your way. Don’t fret though, poetry lovers. There’ll still be plenty of poetry coming for you.

Updates will be a little slow as writing might take a back seat due to the personal challenges 2019 has already thrown me. Not just writing challenges, but also challenges at home. Despite all this, I still believe that this year holds just as much promise for hope as the last. So let’s raise our glasses to the beginning of another very fruitful year. Happy New Year and God bless you all.

Yours truly,

Haunting Angel

Christmas: For Less and More (Full Poem)

2018: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

water-lilies-3578444_1280

Water lilies in a pond

Filled with sweet perfume

Throw in a penny, make a wish

And see if it would bloom

If it doesn’t,

Throw in a few more

And see what it would do

Would it open on a cloudy day,

Unfold its petals for you?

Sell your car,

Go to the market,

And buy yourself a friend

Can you guarantee he’ll be with you

‘Til the very end?

How about peace?

Would sleeping pills

And a little codeine do?

An army for your nightmares

‘Til the sky is bright and blue?

Many a problem in the world

Does money seem to sort,

But once in awhile, we stop to ponder

Why it’s fallen short

Of our demands and expectations

On those unfortunate days

When with it, in desperation

We still can’t get our way

On this Christmas,

Let us pause; let us appreciate

Love, joy, peace, and friendships,

They don’t depreciate

And do this if we can,

Every day, make our days worthwhile

So if we get to heaven,

Our treasure would be stocked up in a pile

Just A Little Update

Hi everyone,

I know I’ve been rather quiet for awhile. This was because my laptop broke and am borrowing someone’s computer for very limited time each day to work on what I do. Also, these offline period has gotten me more inspired to go into a slightly different direction with my stories. So thank you all for your patience. I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year until I come back.

Yours truly,

Angel

Room 675 – Red Horizons Hotel

Where the horror extends past Halloween night

20181103_042508_Quote_Image

August just found this out a few days ago — That according to his obituary, he is to be buried tomorrow: November 3rd, 2018 (a day shy of his 55th birthday). Find out what really happened to him when he checked into the Red Horizons hotel right here.

August’s story has been submitted as a contest entry for THE KEY thanks to the @storytellerssaloon on Wattpad. He’d also like to let you know that he appreciates being heard from where he is and we both thank you in advance for reading his story.

If you like what you read, please feel free to vote. Thank you for your time and if you’ve celebrated halloween, please let me know in the comments how yours went. 🙂

See you again soon.

Love from us both,
       Angel and August
