Happy New Year 2019!

A glorious year ahead of us

It’s official. 2018 is gone! Fireworks are blaring outside my window and shooting up over skyscrapers. What a wonderful year of ups and downs and I’ve got all of you to thank for joining me on this journey.

It’s the first day of 2019 and the year has already greeted me with brand new waves of inspiration and challenges.

In this past year of 2018, I fell into the wonderful world of poetry and have been loving the creative challenge of putting the images and emotions in my head into artful expressive stanzas. If you’re interested in my poetry, please check it out right here.

However this year, I’m hoping to return to my storytelling roots. So look out 2019, there will be stories coming your way. Don’t fret though, poetry lovers. There’ll still be plenty of poetry coming for you.

Updates will be a little slow as writing might take a back seat due to the personal challenges 2019 has already thrown me. Not just writing challenges, but also challenges at home. Despite all this, I still believe that this year holds just as much promise for hope as the last. So let’s raise our glasses to the beginning of another very fruitful year. Happy New Year and God bless you all.

Yours truly,

Haunting Angel

Just A Little Update

Hi everyone,

I know I’ve been rather quiet for awhile. This was because my laptop broke and am borrowing someone’s computer for very limited time each day to work on what I do. Also, these offline period has gotten me more inspired to go into a slightly different direction with my stories. So thank you all for your patience. I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year until I come back.

Yours truly,

Angel

Comeback Update

Hi everyone,

Hope you’re all doing fine. Thank you for being so patient. As you have known, it was a long time since my last post…. but I’m back.

Thank you all for being with my on this writing journey. God has blessed me well while I was away. Short update: The Cricket’s Love Song was long-listed for the #Wattys2018 awards but didn’t make it into the short list. That’s okay. Making it into the long list was already very much a reward. Congratulations, 2018 Wattys Shortlisters. Best of luck for the next round.

Being away from writing this long has definitely given me some new perspectives and time to think about what I’ve been doing. So stay tuned and I’ll be back very soon with something for you.

Cheers,

Angel

Thank you *high five!*

Made it into the Wattys 2018 Longlist

I can’t believe it! THE CRICKET’S LOVE SONG is on the Wattys 2018 longlist. There were 151,767 entries this year and this story made it to the top 784 in the longlist. Even without getting into the shortlist or winning, this in itself will be a memorable achievement in my writing journey.

That’s all folks. Thank you all so so much and see you next time. God bless you all.

Attention, readers

Hi everyone,

Thank you for stopping by this blog. As some of you might have noticed, I have not posted anything for awhile. This is because a family member of mine has fallen sick with a disease and I am having to deal with a sudden increase in responsibilities at home. To those of you who are into praying, please pray for her to get better. I’d very much like to return to creating stories and poems for you all to enjoy. So please follow or bookmark this blog for further updates. Thanks again, God bless, and have a nice day! 🙂

Yours truly,

Angel

Walking under moonlight

A moonlit poem by reet72

moon-2348550_640

I take a walk on the garden path,
a beautiful moonlit night.
The day’s troubles all forgotten,
a walk makes everything right.

Birds rest in their nests,
tired after day long journey.
In a honeycomb on a treetop,
the bees stop making honey.

Cold fragrant breeze slowly blows,
and water ripples in the lily pond.
I breathe the air smelling of roses,
and see the swaying marigolds.

The moon dances in the pond,
Wow! What a beautiful sight!
Silence of night broken by
the echo of bright moonlight.

Strokes Of Passion

A small poem collection available on Wattpad

Strokes of Passion‘ – A small poetry collection by Haunting Angel

Hi everyone,

How’s everyone doing? 🙂

Thank you so much for all the support and love you’ve given my poetry so far. This was a long time coming but I’m so happy it’s finally here. I’ve decided to gather up a handful of poems from what I’ve posted on this blog so far and put it in a Wattpad book for those of you who prefer that platform. I have arranged these poems into a thematic series that explores the ups and downs between losing one’s voice and the triumph of finding the creative power within.

From wingless birds to creative masters – voices can be silenced but there is nothing that can stop wild imagination when it strikes.

You’ve all been wonderful people and I don’t think I would have the guts to do this without your enthusiasm. So thank you once again and please enjoy. There will be more to come so please follow and stay tuned for more updates.

God bless and have a nice day!

Yours truly,
Angel

Claire Jones: Ranked!

And A Brief Introduction to Krampus

rankedcj

Hi everyone, another one of my stories have been ranked on Wattpad. Claire Jones is #14 in the Krampus genre and I couldn’t have done it without you. So thank you, thank you all.  🙂

I think that Wattpad had just recently allowed ranking even in the smaller genres/categories and I’m glad that they did. Personally, I am not too hung up on ranks but I have to admit that it does make the Wattpad game more fun and possibly more encouraging for new writers.

Truth is, I haven’t updated Claire Jones in a long while and my first episode for Claire Jones involved Krampus. If you’re not familiar with Krampus, he’s this guy:

Greetings from Krampus
A 1900s greeting card reading ‘Greetings from Krampus!’

A popular half-goat, half-demon among the folks of Eastern Europe. He comes around the Christmas season to punish misbehaving children and is sometimes depicted as a companion of Saint Nicholas.

In the Claire Jones episode Christmas Troubles, he is rumoured to punish those who ended up on Santa’s Naughty List on the night of Christmas. When Claire realizes that there were no presents from Liefheid (Santa’s brother) under the tree for her, she assumes that she’s ended up on the Naughty list and has to literally face her demon.

If you’d like to check out the rest of the episode, here’s a link to it: https://www.wattpad.com/242409079-claire-jones-christmas-troubles-chapter-1

Meanwhile hold on, sit tight, and enjoy. There’s a happy ending to this madness. I promise. 😉 Thank you all once again and have a nice day! 🙂
