An Interesting Introvert
Very recently, I came upon a creature with an interesting story to tell and inspiration struck. This creature was none other than the hermit crab.
While many other creatures on the beaches and swamps seem boasted about not needing a shell, this interesting creature enjoyed carrying his little corner of solitude around with him. He’s a real introvert, a little shy about coming out, but he’s happy. (Who knows, maybe he’s writing a book in there. Haha. Shh….)
If he can be happy the way he is, what does that say about the other introverts out there then? Who’s to say they have to leave their shells?

A writer whose stories have inspired generations
Today in 1805, a wonderful author named Hans Christian Andersen was born.
For many people (perhaps, even yourself), his well-known stories such asΒ The Ugly Duckling,Β The Brave Tin Soldier, andΒ The Little MermaidΒ continue to be favourites long after his passing in 1875.
His stories appeal well to many especially children and as we mature into adults, some of them grow more resonant with meaning.
Personally being a child who was often restricted from playing outside, his stories were always great company indoors. Fast forward to 2018, his spirit and stories now inspire me to write. In fact, his style of story-telling inspired my recent short story ‘The Cricket’s Love Song‘.
In honour of his 213th birthday, here’s a link for those of us who’d like to revisit his stories.
Hans Christian Andersen Stories
Have a great day and God bless. π
Good Friday 2018
Down in the city,
A commotion; a loss
A man was betrayed,
Was hung on a cross
He was accused
Of crimes aplenty
With no evidence
To find him guilty
He healed the sick,
Raised the dead
Yet βCrucify him!β
Was all they said
There on the cross
The lamb was slain
To show us how
To love again
Have a nice day! π
