A poem by my fellow March 2018 – Wordplay Contest winner, Leontine Willow
There both of us were,
In the cold of the night
Dancing to the melody
Of fallen stars’ light.
All was deep silence
Lit by the coin moon
And we were there twirling
To an unforeseen tune.
The echo of last year
Now took us by hand,
When I fell in the water
And you led me to land.
My face had bloomed rose
In the aftermath.
But now we’re on a journey,
On a winding, traveling path.

Thank you and Congratulations 🙂
The Lord Provides and the Lord delivered. 🙂 First of all, a big THANK YOU for showing your love and support for my poem – The Lord Provides and please join me in congratulating my fellow winner – Leontine Willow. The PoetsPub has announced in their 4th Edition of the Pub Chatter  that Leontine Willow‘s Starlit Echoes and my above-mentioned poem has won in the category of Prompt #1… Seven Words. For this prompt, we had to write a poem (16 lines max) with the seven words that were given: cold, silence, water, echo, moon, path, journey. I have never won any sort of writing contest before. So this is pretty awesome. 🙂
There was also another prompt with three themes in the March 2018 – Wordplay contest involving 13-word poetry. The three themes were hands, clowns and poetry. To be honest, all the 13-word entries were very unique and I had an interesting time writing them. I will post my entries up later on in this blog. In the mean time, please help me congratulate the winners for each category and please show them some love 🙂 :
Clown prompt — Ajay_Kumar (The World Is A Circus)
Hand prompt — Mansi Jain (A Father’s Story)
Poetry prompt — Shayahj (Poetry)
The March 2018- Wordplay Contest has closed. If there are any of you who are interested in participating in these contests, the Poets Pub has another one called Spring Has Sprung – April 2018 Contest.
Congratulations once again to all these writers for their well-deserved wins and thank you all for coming. God bless and have a great day! 🙂

In the cold silence of the night
A single boat floats out to sea
The moon glows full and bright
So it’s not so hard to see
A man casts his net down
And prays for fish aplenty,
Then the water yields a mighty catch
Counting more than twenty
Soon, the waves begin to echo
The seabirds begin to cry
It’s time to make his journey home
Where the land is dry
He pulls his loaded boat to shore
To meets his wife’s embrace,
Then he takes the fishes up the path
To the marketplace
